Saturday June 19th What a brilliant day at out Albert Park Lake. With one count saying there were 30 Bullies wandering around Albert Park it was a fantastic turn out for our first Bully Walk. Every-one was very well behaved and of course the Bullies are always well behaved. We have got some great photos of this event so make sure you check our photos page. This will not be our only Bully walk, I'm currently in the process of organising the next walk, as I know many Bully onwers just like getting out and about with your dogs and meet other Bully people in a relaxed environment. Plus educating the public about our amazing breed. Check the website for the next walk, and it will also be in the clubs next newsletter. Thanks to all the people that helped out on the day, helped set up & pack up, donated food for our BBQ, and of course a MASSIVE thank you to our Master chefs who spent thier day cooking the BBQ. Sunday May 23rd What a brilliant turn out today for our Members comp, with 28 entries it was a huge turn out. Congratulations all of todays winners and thank you to all the Bully Clubs members who turned out to support the club. I know numerous people drove some distance to get to our show, so a big thanks to them. Without you guys our club ceases to exist. Also a big thanks to the new people who came along for a look and got ropped on to show their dogs. It's just a bit of fun, no pressure and a great way to meet other Bully owners and just to make sure it's not just your Bully who destroys everything. Thanks again to all who turned out and a huge thank you to committee, your work doesn't go unnoticed, helping pack up, tear down and generally assist with everything. (including driving all the way back to Montrose when someone forgot the prizes) Hope to see everyone at the Bully Walk on June the 19th, lets all hope for good weather.
Wednesday April 28 2010 The Bull Terrier Club of Victoria committee is organisng Bully Walks. Hopefully we'll be able to oganise a few of these during the year and it'll be a chance for Bull Terrier owners or potential Bully owners to get out and about. It's a chance to show the public how great these dogs are and of course a chance to have some fun with your Bully. Our first Bully Walk will be held on Saturday June the 19th at Albert Park Lake from 12pm onwards. (obviously weather permitting, check weather on the day and ring Leigh if in doubt or check website)
This will be a fun afternoon where you can meet other Bull Terrier owners and find out more about the breed from breeders and other owners alike.
The day will start at the Pelican Lawns near the car park of The Carousel on Albert Park at Alberet Park Lake. There are plenty of parking areas around the Lake and parking fees may apply.
Look out for our banner and the Bull Terriers. You can go for a walk around the lake with fun activities to do along the way. Prizes will be awarded for percipients of these activities. Or just hang out and try our famous Bully BBQ.
These are a social day without the pressure of showing, just a casual afternoon. You don’t even have to own a Bully, just come along and find out more about this amazing breed.

Caulfield Pet and Animal Expo 2010: Friday 12th February – Saturday 13th February – Sunday 14th February The Bull Terrier Club of Victoria had a stand at the Caulfield Pet Expo this year. This was held at Caulfield Racecourse. What a fantastic turn out we had. The info packs we made up were all handed out to the public. And our brochures were also taken. A huge thank you to our volunteers who brought along their dogs, all dogs were extremely well behaved, as were our helpers. Our pirate theme was a big hit, next year we WILL win the best stand. Thanks again, especially to Anthony and Jasper, new member and first time helpers, you were a big help. So Thanks. Deb Heat and your Bull Terrier: Don't forget your Bully during the hot weather. We all know they don't cope too well with the heat, so make sure you have plenty of fresh water avaliable. And if possible bring them inside if you have air conditioning. And don't exercise your dog too much, not that is much of a problem with Bullies. Take care during the hot weather.
If you have a pet Bull Terrier that you can no longer care for who is suitable for re-homing, please contact the breeder as first point of call. Most breeders will take their dogs back. As a second option, contact me and I will do my best to find a new home for your dog, I do from time to time have people contact me who would love to re-home a bully. Send me an email with details/photos of your dog, include age, health problems, whether he is suitable for homes with other animals or children etc and of course your full contact details. I will refer interested people to you so you can decide if they can provide the right home. Alternately if you would like to re-home a bully please phone or email me with your details and I will let you know if anything is available. Deborah Gill – Secretary
